With glorious beads from around the globe and an enormous selection of findings, jewelry making supplies and tools, The Black Bead is your one stop bead shop.

Sitting square in the middle of Ocean Beach's bustling, pedestrian-oriented downtown, this thriving little shop is as inviting as a candy store to a wide- eyed kid.

Jewelry designers, beaders and craftspeople literally come from all over the world to visit this well known shop.

When you first enter the shop, the whirlwind of colors, shapes and strings beckons you to spend some time exploring the bounty within.

The cases are lined with partitioned trays of treasures, the walls are alive with patterns; there are even delicious beauties hanging above your head.

Owner/ Operator Lynn Muhlenkord says, "I love buying beads; I'm always looking for new and different things. We have a little bit of everything; something for everyone.”

Lynn first opened The Black Bead over 18 years ago. It started humbly with a few tables of beads along the wall. Today, it has grown to be a cornerstone of San Diego jewelry supply stores. And with a talented and helpful staff to guide you there is no limit to what you can create.
